For days now the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers have been battling for the top spot in the NL Central standings. A few weeks ago the Brewers had a 5 game lead over the Cubs, and now the Cubs are just a half game back behind the Brew Crew for first. The Cubs have been very hot as of late, winning their last 11 out of 14. As if this rivalry between the two teams couldn’t get more intense, they have a three game series starting tonight. The Cubs will head out to Miller Park, and look to take first place from under the Brewers. As we preview tomorrow’s matchup, the Cubs have Jose Quintana on the mound. Quintana has been pretty solid in his last couple of starts. Although in his last start against the Phillies he got hung with a no decision, he still finished with only 3 hits, 2 ER’s and 10 Strikeouts. Jose has been very sharp against Milwaukee so far this season, let’s hope he can maintain it. As for the Brewers, they will send Junior Guerra to the mound to stop the red hot Cubs. Guerra has only one win in the last 7 games he’s started. Looking back at his last start, Guerra got hooked with the loss as he finished with 7 hits, 3 ER’s, 1 BB, and 5 Strikeouts. This series will be very interesting and exciting for fans of each team. The last time the Cubs faced the Brewers at Wrigley Field they swept, and held the Brewers to only 2 runs in 4 games total, 3 of those games were shutouts. It will be exciting to see all the blue and red fill the stands at Miller Park. Will the Cubs make a statement by taking game one of the series? Tune in tonight! First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m CT.
