Should the Cubs Fire Joe Maddon?

No. Stop it. This is stupid. Let’s go over the seasons since Joe Maddon has taken over as the manager of the Cubs, shall we?

2015: Won 97 games and took the Cubs to the NLCS for the 1st time since 2003.

2016: Won 103 games and WON THE WORLD SERIES.

2017: Won 92 games and went to the NLCS for a 3rd straight season.

2018: Currently in 1st place and on pace to win 96 games.

That’s the end of the fucking discussion. Joe Maddon is a very good manager, he has been for about a decade now, and there is no scenario in the foreseeable future where it would be acceptable to fire Joe Maddon.

Now, let’s talk for a second about the replacement for Joe Maddon, if he were to be fired. Who’s that going to be? Joe Girardi? That’s, at best, a lateral move, and I’m probably being generous with calling it lateral. There is no coach out there who will step in and be better than Joe Maddon. Please, send in your suggestions to prove me wrong. I’m waiting.
